ok, im going to be putting a FMIC on, but im not sure what size to get?

im only gonna have the 14b on there.

but any suggestions please?

what are your plans for future mods? If you don't plan on doing anything else to the car, i don't think you even need an FMIC unless you just want one. In which case I would just go with a smaller one that was more affordable, like maybe a small 7 inch kit. If, however, you are going to do a serious build in the near future, then move on to the 10.5 inch or bigger.

You can go with a "short route" piping kit that would be very few pipes to work with. In any case, you will most likely have to do a little custom fab work to the bumper cover and/or actual crash beam.

alright this is whats going to be going on with it pretty soon.

im putting this stuff in

255FP
3" TBE
Methanol kit
MBC
injectors(550)

then MAFT to tune, max PSI for boost i wanna do is 20, and 18 for daily driver

ideas?

I would think that a "street/strip" kit that most of the vendors sells would be good for you. I don't foresee you coming anywhere near overdoing one of them with those mods. The street/strip kits are the 7 inch tall kits and would fill the "hole" in the front bumper cover almost completely. Would require custom fab though for sure.

ideas on the specs for sizes?

like what would be the best length for the FMIC to handle those upgrades?

28" length? maybe shorter idk?

im only tryin for either 325-350whp then im done untill i get a 6 bolt LOL

I would def go with a big one then if thats what your going to do, but pay attention to how much horse power it says it can hold, exp: don't by a FMIC kit that is only rated for 400hp if your going to be building a 500hp car, and how much boost that there rated for.

Go to cxracing.com or ETD motors on ebay...its the same company. Excellent products. It is nearly identical to the Spearco setup at my local National Speed.

Here is the one I have. cxracing.com: Front Mount Intercooler 31"x12"x3"

It fit my 90 Laser and my 92 GSX fine with only minor trimming to the "lip" of the metal crash bumper and I had to open up the "holes" in the front of the car a bit for the 2.5" piping. I got my piping kit there too with couplers and t-bolt clamps. I only spent about $325. Bead rolled aluminum pipes and everything. I'm running 28psi with no issues at all.

ETS sells a kit that requires very little custom fabbing. Usually, the more expensive, the more they are developed. Meaning you yourself have to do less fitting of pipes. The cheaper it is, the more creative and flexible you're going to have to be.

I don't think that will be of concern to him though.. he didn't mention going any bigger than the 14b, so a monster one isn't really necessary. The SMIC would actually be fine, but if you are bent on a fmic i would just Ebay 1g intercoolers and check the CFM rating on the item.

There is a monster thread on ebay intercoolers on here. Read through it if you dont trust ebay. lots of people have great luck with them

25 x 7 x 3 (ETS kit) would be plenty. If you go the ebay route, then I'm not sure what to get honestly. My ebay fmic (haven't measured) can't be more than 18-20 inches on the actual core, and does fine.

side note, you have a 93 awd so you already have a 6 bolt, unless you or a previous owner had a motorswap done of some sort

Ya guess i wasn't really thinking hah my bad, you know as he said if it doesn't make a diff to you, look at sum of the aftermarket sidemounts, they don't cost you as much and will get the job done for what you want to do and you would have to fab the fron bumper, unless your want that look of the front mount.

yea i like the look of the front mount, and if in the future i do get a 16g, i dont wanna have to upgrade even more,

and yes its a 7 bolt, swap idk why, the guy i bought it from did it and its really ghetto swap haha bolts are broken in places but im fixing it all.

i see, did you buy the kit or the IC then the piping?

I bought the kit, I was trying to get an install pic loaded but it won't let me for some reason, i had to do a little fab and take the crash bumper off but honestly I've never installed one before in my life and i did it by myself just fine....took me three days but i have a wife and a child to take care of so you know how that is.

search the forums for ssautochrome fmic install or something to that effect.

do believe there is a huge forum with install pics of the ssautochrome one that i stumbled on one day when i was using the search feature

haha alright cool,

well as soon as i get my tax return, im getting a FMIC, then driving to mexico haha!

Ya there is 2 forums on it one on a talon i believe and one on a 2g eclipse, i used both as instructions, although the guy that has the 2g did a very good job on his thread and it was very helpful.
