Is there a check engine light on? If unplugging the MAF does nothing, that indicates the ECU isn't seeing/using the signal from the MAF, which should throw a CEL. If not, something else is going on in addition to your MAF problem.

When the SAFC was removed, was everything hooked back up properly? I know when installing a SAFC, the MAF signal wire has to be cut. Sometimes when people remove the SAFC, they forget to reconnect this wire.

No check engine light but i didnt unwire the safc i just have it unplugged so im guessing that why cuz i fidnt hook that wire back up
Im getting ready to leave for work but ill hook that wire back together tommrow and see if thats it
Thanks

^^ Good call. OP, do you have anything to read codes from the ECU? With that said, do you have a stock MAF too, to rule out other issues?

do you have a wideband to see how lean it is do you have a pocket logger to help I ran the gm for sometime, sold it and got speed density and link.

Yea i have a wideband it was running in the high 18s but it ended up being that wire that was cut for the safc hooked it back up today and its running good again
Thanks for the help
