gm maf?? or no?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

It depend on your goals and plans for the furture. What are your reasons for wanting it and for not wanting it? Please try to be more descriptive.

I love my MAFT setup. It's great. If I could do anything differently, it would have just been the way I went about getting it. I probably would have bought the SBR kit and then found the piping somewhere. But it was still well worth it IMO.

i think i want to run "blow through". ive heard that you need to have the gm maf in order to do this. is that correct? also is blow through the best option? can someoen help explain to me the differences between venting to atmosphere and blow through?

Blow Through just means the MAS is after the Turbo. Venting is leaving the BOV open to atmosphere. You can still recirculate with a blowthrough setup for a quieter shift but it won't make a difference in how it runs.:dsm:

You'll find a bunch of people who agree and disagree with that.

When your BOV is vented the air that is supposed to return to the turbo doesn't. Without a GM MAF after the BOV, this can cause the car to run poorly. Blow Thru makes it possible for you to run with your BOV open with no negative side effects.

Some people who run the Blow-Thru setup still recirculate the BOV because a lot of people believe that the extra air and pressure released by the BOV will spool the turbo faster when it blows off.

I just copied this from one of my previous post. This should be all the info you need.

to save money, I would just go get a GM MAF from a junkyard ($30-45) usually.
