GM MAF Install Trouble

I just put in my gm maf and translator in today. After i got everything installed and zeroed out all the settings, i started it up and it ran ok but not the best. I took it for a ride and it didnt seem right, so i just guessed i needed to get a tune when i got my logger in. so i drove to my girlfriends house parked and went back to my car got in and drove to work and it ran alright. After work, i get in the car and start it and a CEL is on. everytime i would even touch the gas it would bog and die. And on the maft the red led is on and upon startup my buddy said the green one flashed. So i was just wondering if anyone knows what i can do just go get it running because i wanna be able to drive it 30 mins away where my buddy can help me tune. Please help asap. Thanks

Hey man I am sorry I cant help you but I am in the same boat. My car starts and idles rough and as soon as I touch the gas it dies. My cel light is on aswell.

I just had this problem a few days ago. Im assuming everything is hooked up correctly. What is the datalogger sayin the cel is on for? My problem was that water got into one of the plugs. Dried that out...worked fine. Now another problem could be maybe the gmmaf isnt facing the right direction. Make sure you have that installed correctly. (theres an arrow on it pointing in what direction it needs to go in) Also w/ the water...make sure there is no water on the maf. Thats a few things to check out...but again...if that isnt it post the cel message

If you have red lights on at startup, you have problems, Refer to your MAFT documentation on how to read the trouble lights the maft Shows.

Most likley installation error, do you have the RPM wire attached?
its possible your connects have came loose,

http://www.fullthrottletech.com/showthread.php?t=894 And here is V2.0x documentation. The CEL says something is wrong and should point you in the right direction. Was the MAF new of used? If used have an alternate to swap in for a bit to prove it out. Also you say you zeroed the MAFT out, with V2.0x you do not use 0, you have to use AUX 0 BASE 2 to simulate stock 450s. But I doubt this would cause so much a of a problem the throw a CEL and cause the car to idle like crap.

Thanks for all the help guys, it just turned out that my rpm wire was not connecting properly on the cas. So i took it off fixed it up and now it runs not to bad and i got the green led. thanks again guys.

K so now that i have that all going, i wanted to start tuning with my logger, but everytime i plug it in i go to test it and it says serial com error. So does anyone know of a way to fix this,or even have a setting that i can put mny translator to just so it doesnt drive like crap. My mods are in Profile. All help is appreciated ALOT.

Without the logger setting up the MAFT is difficult. A serial comm error could be a few things. It could be a bad serial cable. Make sure the key is turned on. It will through this error if in the off position. It could also be hooked up wrong. Double check the wiring and be sure your tapping into the right ports.

well, to get driveable,

can you tell if its either rich or lean? causing the non drivability.?

give it a click, go for a drive, click drive, click drive, Id leave it as rich as possible. until you can log

o i got it drivable and it is EXTREMLY rich. like when crusing and i give it some gas it will bog out, and even at de-acceleration it crackles and pops alot more then usual.
