Well I wanted to quiet down my custom 2.5" exhaust (including an ebay muffler) and decided to get a glasspack. For about $18.00 shipped from ebay it looks decent. Have to fix one of the welds, seen in seconds picture, due to some porisity. The rest of the welds have decent penetration and look sound. I'm glad i'm painting this all hi-temp black because their paintjob is shiat. :D

Other than that my real question is which way does it go. The following to pictures show how it has little open pockets facing one direction and not the other. So which way does it need to be placed?

Also should I place it close to the downpipe or farther along in my ehaust? Which would be better at quieting it down, and which for better flow?

And as a side not one of the ends was crunch a little in shipping, but cutting a 1 inch section off will fix it up like new. :)

The fins should face the back of the car when looking into it otherwise that would be pretty restrictive to catch all of the exhaust coming through it. Also I would place it 1/2 way back your exhaust. Just my .02 but good luck!

If you want it quiet put the louvers catching the exhuast, if you want it a little louder and better flowing (still kinda poor flowing though) put the louvers so the exhaust can jump over them. Think cheese grater and you'll have your answer.

I was always told that the further away from the outlet of the valve you can put a muffler the less energy the exhuast gas has, meaning the less energy it has to loose in the muffler, meaning less power loss. I don't know if that's true or not, but I do see a lot of OEM's putting the muffers at the back of the car.

With that muffler, I'd stick it where it fits :D As much as it say's it's a performance piece, I lost 3psi (WG hooked up directly to manifold boost soure) and what feels like a bazillion hp from going from an open 2.5" to one of those. No extra pipe, no nothing, just one of those, vs. not one of those. It made my mom happy though, and that's what is important. Oh, I put the louvers catching the fow. HP drain or not, I don't want to sound like a ricer :D

I'll put it as as close as I can to my second muffler at the end. I wonder how long I'll spend sanding it down tomorrow. ROFL I wish it came unpainted.
