Gasket Set

FFWD Connection are great! The copper gaskets rule. I've heard that even if you have missing studs on your exhaust manifold the exhaust manifold gasket seals! I have a set that I'm installing when I put my new exhaust on. They're sitting in my hands right now and they look MINT! Shipped here fast too.

Do not use a copper head gasket. That is more for race only as you need to constantly re torque the head studs.

Stick with a composite and arp studs.

As for the manifold gasket, I've never had issues with a MLS gasket that I re use, nor with any other gaskets. I would suggest the OEM MLS manifold to turbo gasket as well.

i just had some one tell me today that he went through a few oem then went to autozone and got a Victor Reinz Victor Reinz/Exhaust Manifold Gasket (MS19268) | 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution AWD 4 Cylinders F 2.0L MFI Turbo DOHC | AutoZone.com and hasnt had problems since.
Also the person im buying my evo3 mani from said he keeps blowing out the outside gaskets. So something tells me this time the OEM isnt the best choice if theyre not holding up.Mitch keep me updated on this tell me how they work out. it might be a couple weeks now before i can buy them.
And liquid have you actually used these or just going by what others say. im sure not all cooper gaskets are the same, maybe these are different? i dont see how a different gasket would make you have to retorque your bolts. ive read of people having problems with that using OEM gaskets.

It's due to the softness of the copper.

I have yet to have any issues with OEM gaskets on the different setups I've ran. The OEM turbo to manifold gasket is the best one by far that I've used.

I tried this and I wasn't missing any bolts just had 3 on the bottom that would not get really tight so I removed the manifold and this is what I found. I ended up drilling out all my bottom exhaust bolt holes and installed heli core in them and just ended up going with a OEM stock 4 layer metal gasket and now all is well. The copper gasket is a very nice piece but don't think it can be installed with any missing studs its not going to work. Fix your studs and the gasket will do what its suppose to do seal. Lesson learned for me:coy: Oh by the way this was the main culprit in my slow turbo spool on my 553hp dyno pull.

I do apologize if I gave the impression not to use to copper gasket it's a great gasket as with the oem gasket don't use either with missing studs I put oem back on mine because the first oem failed for the same reason copper failed I had some studs that needed to be replaced now that studs fixed oem holds fine.
