gas filler relocation

Once I get a couple things sorted on on my eclipse I want to start doing some body work. I really like the shaved look and want to relocate my gas filler either inside or behind the plate or something.

Was wondering if anyone has done something similar and if they could share info/pics.

I searched fo everything I could think of and couldn't find anything relevent.

Haven't seen it done, bu doesn't seem to hard if you do a fuel cell set up. That way you don't got to worry about cutting holes in the floor of he trunk and the tank. Just seems easier with a cell .

Well I'm not too worried about cutting/welding as long as I got a general idea of what I'm gonna be doing. Main reason for doing it is I want to weld the gas door shut and shave it.

I'd do something like this if I were you, you can use the existing inlet to the tank

I actually really like that. Does anyone know if that's some type of kit or just metal work?

Would be awesome if anyone knew the person who has actually done that to get some info on it.

It was a kit, well with the help of the shop way back in 2005. But truth be told, it's metal work mostly.

I could probably fab something up if its mainly metal work, I don't think it would look quite that good though .

I should try to find pics of the old probe gt. The gas filler cap was right when you opened the hatch, in the drivers side corner , recessed right behind the tail light. The stock gas tank was used. It is 95% metal work. It was very cleanly done as metal can be grinded down and coated with a thin layer of fiberglass/body filler to make it nice. I was going to do it behind the license plate, but it was done before.

Basically be ready for about 30hrs of time involved.
