Garrett T3t4 Turbo questiionz

Hey fellers my next upgrade is going to be a bigger turbo. I already have the Walbro 250, 560 cc evo 8 injectors etc etc. My friend has a small 16g that needs rebuilt. I figured for the I'm going to pay for the turbo, the rebuild kit etc it'll come down to about what I'll pay for a rebuilt t3t4. My question is what will I need to have it bolt on? And what are the flow rates of the small 16g and the t3 t4?

What kind of car is this all for? And a t3 style tubro is much diff than a 16g. For a 1g dsm the 16g will bolt right up. A t3 style would need a adapter plate from dsm to t3 or a new manifold to bolt to, and whatever else mods to run it properly.

Don't do it.

Sure the turbo may cost as much (actually it doesn't....the stock 2.2 Chrysler T3 in the link you provided is smaller than a 16G; by the time you're done upgrading you will have spent about $750), but it won't bolt to our manifolds. Enter a custom manifold and o2 housing at $toomuch.

Just buy a 16G and be done with it. It's more turbo than the majority of fairly-stock street-driven DSM's can handle. Just make sure you're not getting ripped off- if the seller already admitted that it "needs rebuilt" you could be opening a serious can of worms.

Oh alright thanks guys. It's for my 91 tsi. He's not ripping me off. I bought the car from him and he has 3 other tsi ' s so we work on them together etc. Said he found a 16g but it's just going to need rebuilt since it's been sitting a bit. I'll just gowith it then.

Some day I'll have a Garrett turbo.. I like need to since that's my actual name it's to cool not to have a turbo that's name is the same as yours

Buy a 2G....they came stock with a Garrett. Pretty much the worst Garrett turbo Mitsubishi could've possibly put on a DSM, but hey- it's on there.
