Garrett GT3776 turbo?

Yea, i'm prepared to replace the exhaust manifold, I just want something with a little more Umph to it. The ebay 16g i have is coked up from the previous owner, so i'm looking for a viable replacement. With my mods list I should only need injectors and an AFPR and DSMlink to tune everything together

This is an extremely poor selection for a 4 cylinder. It's going to be very laggy and not produce much more than a 50 trim. Gt3076 is a much better choice but if you're looking for something in the same price range, I'd look at some of the BW s200' s or even cheaper and just as, if not more, durable....a holset setup.

And that was an extremely sad comment. Lag is a terrible excuse to not go with a big or even huge turbo. Tell that to all of the people running hx52 holsets and 70mm+ turbos on their cars. He never asked about comments from people with zero experience. :toobad:

I was thinking of the holset HX-35 series. I see alot of guys run with those set ups, i havent 100% made up my mind yet, i'll ask around some more and read more threads on what people think of em.

Did you happen to look at the compressor diameter or map? This is FAR from the same league as an hx52. If he never asked for people with comments that have zero experience th.en you CERTAINLY shouldn't be posting, considering you can't seem to read a compressor map and the fact that you think this is considered a big or huge turbo. Lmao!. The exhaust wheel is much larger than it needs to be for this compressor. It's better for a deisal or large displacement, limited rpm application.

And Fwiw, I have no problems with lag at all....if the compressor flow is worth it. This turbo doesn't even flow 50lbs per min and the turbine its mated to is sufficient for a turbo flowing about 80-90lbs per min.

why not try a PTE? You can use stock mani, and it flows a ton. Yea mines a bit laggy but not bad, if anything i wish i would have went even bigger. 272 cams will help as well. I would skip on that turbo your looking at personally. Just bang for the buck, and i know garrett is very reliable, is just not there. Id just go bigger and be done with it.

Yea I can read a compressor map jackass, and I agree it's not a good choice, but it takes insulting your ignorant ass just to get you to explain yourself instead of making a stupid comment. :f-u:

How was it a stupid comment? I said exactly the facts. YOU were the one throwing the insults stating my post, which was again FACT was extremely sad and saying I have no experience when you don't know me from Adam or what experience I have. Funny, I didn't happen to se you try to offer any assistance to the OP whatsoever. So where's YOUR experience come in?

As someone running an HX52, and a 71mm inducer wheel, the 3776 is a lot of turbine for such a comparatively small compressor wheel.

On a 4cyl, the 3794R is a much better wheel match. But that again is a lot of turbo for only ~350-400awhp.

So a 3776 would actually be a considerable amount of lag for so little flow, even in the tighter backhousings..

OP should look into the 3071, 3271 or 3076 (this would have room to grow with the spool of a GT30 sized turbine) if you are set on a Garrett.. personally I would look into the BW S200sx line

My s200sx-59/74 was a blast on the street in any of the housings offered through Airwerks or BEPs housings.

Just my two cents.

Its not really the lag its the efficiency. It would be like putting a td06 wheel on a 14b. I have zero expirience ans understand this:confused:

Lighten up Francis. That wasn't exactly being a dick on my part, I even used smilies to provide inflection

Though FWIW, Garrett only offers the 76mm exducer comp. wheel on the BB CHRAs with GT30 turbine wheel.

I don't see where rr06rs recommended the 3076 ;)

And I'm pretty sure the 3076R is only a BB center section. :D

Actually, I was unaware that Garrett carried an off the shelf gt3076 in jb?? Please send me a link to this on their site if I'm mistaken. Hence why I figured it would be obvious that I was refering to the dbb unit without specifying R.
