Galant in trouble please help! motor mounts..

My girls car is having probles with the shacking and what not I want her car to be smooth and nice ride. I am going to replace either her full motor mounts or put inserts in them what do you think?? it shakes like crazy when sitting for too long hitting the brakes. she is going crazy here. help!

When does the shaking happen? Is it just when she is on the brakes? If so, it sounds more like warped rotors than a motor mount issue.

Also, replacing engine mounts with aftermarket inserts will only make the car vibrate more - they are stiffer but they transmit more engine vibration to the car than stock motor mounts.

Speed hit it on the head. Since you make it sound like it happens only during braking I would lean towards the rotors also.

yeah it only does it when its at a dead stop and her foot is on the break and now even on park, it starts shacking i figuired because they were broken and loose. since it is a 2001 so replacing them would be better then just getting inserts so the motor wont shake? I have inserts in mine and it dont shake like that.. it even makes a noise because of how hard it shakes..

I had not driven the car myself but it is idleing low and thats when it shakes also backfires a bit.. I'm gonna do a tune up on it I bet the spark plugs are bad.. any suggestions?
