Well I was looking online and saw that VFAQs has gear ratio information. I was wondering is it possible to use a secondary gear ratio from a Galant GSX in a VR4 transmission.

Tranny gear ratios for DSMs

i WAS going to do this to obtain longer gears which would be badass on teh highway but I ended up selling my car, I talked to a local that did this years ago and he had no issues.

I have a galant GSX trans for sale for cheap FYI.

Hmmm.....maybe this forum is getting better.

Nah I honestly was coming in here to see all the naysayers that were going to tell me I am stupid and a noob.

I already swapped the secondary and the front diff. I also installed the rear diff as you need to match the front and rear final drive ratios.

With my 18in tires @26in diameter, I can go 88mph doing 3k. My top speed is 280mph @ 9k

So this works out just fine and the taller/longer gears from the gsx trans are just as strong as heats in a 1g turbo trans? Could they handle 500hp forever?

I would wager the gearsets in the turbo cars are likely heat treated or have a different heat treat and or material. OEM's frequently due this to various parts to drive cost down rather than have a new unique gear.

You still have it? I'd be interested in buying it. I have several GGSX cars and I'm always collecting parts when I can.
