most people do it as a piece of mind knowing that they wont have the belt break on them and take out the timing belt. That happened to me and I bent 8 valves. However, I didnt eliminate it and will just replace it next time I do the timing belt.

reliability mostly , in the fact that if your belt snaps for your balance shaft you do not loose your timing belt. also there is some extra power seeing as though you just eliminated a good source of parasitic drag. but you also gain a tremendous amount of oil pressure be sure to port your oil relief valve theres write ups covering that(ive maxed out my 150psi gauge on a cold morning before)

Exactly. People aren't looking to gain horsepower with this mod. They're looking to remove one more piece that can fail. The balance shaft belts are something that like to break.

I myself have removed them, and with the stock motor mounts, you really don't feel the added vibration.

If you can withstand a more shaking engine, and a little added oil pressure as well.

Note: Some engine/blocks are more balances then other and its not more shaking is being made but more is felt.

I done mine because i had the same problem as robbo185. I bent all my intake valves. But yea mostly because of reliability.

what is the best way to seal an oil pan.I have a way that works occasionally but im willing to try a method that works well

i do it the way my 4g63 service manual says with an 1/8 inch bead of rtv around the whole pan dont ever have leaks did it on 3 now.

no horsepower gains.... less part to fail...and i do notice more vibration...from 2k-4K rpm....
