When replacing the bears, the ones that have the holes, how important is it that they match up? I aligned the one closest to the front case but the one farther in is very hard to tell. Suggestions? Note: I am eliminating my balance shafts.

Not sure which bears you're referring to. As far as I know, they all have holes, several on one end and one on the other.

Bears are the number one threat to America. ROFL

What do you mean by matching up the holes on the BEARINGS? Lining the hole up with the oil passage? If so, that would defeat the purpose of installing new BEARINGS.

sorry, very sorry, im down with the flu i read that like 20 times. Yes there is a hole on the bearing and do i line that up with the flow of oil? Or do i not, line up the hole with the oil flow, because I am eliminating the balance shafts?

No problem, the purpose of installing new bearings is to block the oil passage, lining the hole with the oil passage is the last thing you want to do, imagine the amount of oil pressure will be lost through the hole without the balance shafts in place. On a side note, porting of the oil pressure relief valve return path on the oil filter housing should always be done along side a BS removal to prevent too high of "oil pressure" since the passages will be blocked.

Before you ask me about how to port the oil pressure bypass valve. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=239256

I have a few friends that recently did that, doing one of them myself I'm on top of that. The problem was they have all had their cars modded for so long that they cant remeber wether to block or not 100% anyways. Well some bearings to unalign. Thank you sir, your wisdom is not of this earth.

i'm just finishing up my 6 bolt swap and caught wind of this thread. I'm going to be using the 90 style filter housing with an external oil cooler. I'm putting the cooler in the stock location of the 2G sidemount intercooler, so I'll be running like 5 ft of -8AN lines each way. Do you think that even with that line and oil cooler I'll need to port the housing to relieve pressure?

Old Man Are you the guy sells the dsmlink stuff?

DSMULATOR i would port it anyway, i would hate to see you throw it back on the car and be running crazy oil pressure.

thanks

Side note: can those crush washers be purchased from a local part store or do I need to go back to O.E.
