I am noticing a complete lack of some hard evidence as to how much LSD's help. So anyone with an LSD and FWD chime in with some numbers..I'll even make a chart of the info i would like to know

1. LSD BRAND/TYPE:
2. ESTIMATED HP LEVEL:
3. TYPE OF TIRE:
4. SUSPENSION MODS:
5. 60' BEFORE AND AFTER INSTALLATION:
6. 1/4 MILE ET BEFORE AND AFTER INSTALLATION:
7. 1/4 MILE MPH BEFORE AND AFTER INSTALLATION:
8. ANYOTHER RELAVENT MODS OR INFORMATION:

This can be for any of the LSD's out there: Quaife, KAAZ, KarKing, Inserts, or any imbred-ass-hombrew-welded-front-diff concoction you have tried.

I will say that the KAAZ was the single best investment I have made to my car. It doesn't matter all too much because I am clearing over 500whp (400 uncorrected) with my new fuel system. The tires don't have a chance. I will have results in the next two weeks with the slicks. It was a waste to try and tune the car on the street before the LSD. Now I can at least tune in 5th gear. Tonight tried to tune in 4th with E85. Not gonna happen. Tires were blown off the car. I was able to tune in 3rd before E85. That was with C16. Now it is just a waste.

But, as I said, car is night and day with the LSD. It it noisy and ratchety around turns. It doesn't like to back up either. But has gotten smoother over the past 1500-2000 miles. If you are looking for a quiet, smooth LSD go with the quaife. THe KAAZ is a drag lsd no doubt. I do not drive my car much. Maybe once or twice a month to keep things moving. Oh and to tune. Now that I have a house, it will only come out to play. No more street driving as the lightening and new fuel system make it almost unbearable to drive. That is until you hit the gas.

I would have to say that the Quaife was the single best mod I have done to my car to date! It completely changed the feel of the car. I can now say that my car actually feels like a sports car. :)

There was some noticeable improvement in straight/off the line traction, but the most noticeable difference was in the way the car handles/turns. I can give the car more throttle going into a turn now and it just grabs the road and goes where I point the front end, whereas before if I tried that it would just plow off the road in a straight line. I can also start accelerating much sooner coming out of turns and lay into the throttle to come flying out of exits. It's good times. It had me grinning from ear to ear for quite a while until I finally got used to it. The car is so much more fun now. Had I known this when I first got the car, there's no doubt in my mind that this would have been my first mod!

Straight line acceleration; I can use a little bit more of first but still spin the tires easily. Second gear, I would get a little scratch, maybe a bit of spin, but the car would hook up pretty quick and just keep accelerating. 3rd, nothing but traction. This was with a new set of Kuhmo MX's though. Now that my tires have been heat cycled a bajillion times, have hardened up a bit, and worn down a bunch, I'm back to being able to spin the tires at will any time in first and second gear. My car was (at the time) just shy of 300whp with my EVOIII 16G hitting 20psi with what felt like the flip of a light switch when I mashed the throttle (thank you cams!). I say was since I've had to turn the boost way down recently to sort out a problem, but thats another thread in itself. Also, when the road is wet out (or I'd imagine in the snow... I've never seen the stuff) you won't even notice that the Quaife is there when accelerating off the line. So don't expect much in those situations. I'd think the Kaaz might work a little better if you're looking for a better drag LSD.

edit: I don't have any 60' or 1/4 times since I've never taken the car to the track. As for suspension mods I have Koni Sport (yellow) struts, Ground-Control coiloevers with the default spring rates (450lb front/300lb rear), RMDSM sway bars, DC strut bars, car was corner weighted, 17"x7.5" wheels with Kuhmo MX tires 225/45/17, and I don't recall the camber and toe info off the top of my head.

Oh, and my gearing is also a bit different than a FWD 2G since I have an AWD transmission in the car, modified for FWD use.
