FWD to AWD guys wanted!

If you have never done this swap, please do not ask unless you absolutely have a good answer.

I have my FWD and was looking to go AWD. I know many parts are needed and some custom fab stuff but what would it cost, rough average? Not including clutch, flywheel(new).
I know alot of guys just say switch chassis, or throw my mods on an AWD chassis, but my chassis and rest of the car only have 40 for a 1997 and is MINT!!! So that is not an option.

If the price is too high, I will have to settle for a SBR LSD insert and some suspesnion, .

I just recently completed the swap on my 99 gst. I found a 95 gsx that had an engine fire, got it for 800. It took me a couple weeks to do all the work. That was working on it when I had time not 2 weeks of solid work. As long as you can find a donor car for cheap its well worth it. I am yet to drive it however as I still have to get my 6 bolt put together. I don't know if you will find as good of a deal as I did, the gsx I got also had an Eprom, rear LSD and vented rear rotors. As long as your mechanicly inclined, have a welder and some time I would say go for it.

check this website out. www.dvdtfab.com he already has the conversion performed to his car and i am pretty sure he can help you. the only thing is from the looks of his Talon there were alot of cutting and fabricating done.

Maybe I will just throw an SBR LSD insert, save up my money and leave my car the way it sits and save for an Evo or STI... HAHA

there's a guy here in town that converted his. He is very experienced and he said it took him about 18 hours to do the conversion. I belive he spent like $1400 for all the parts or something like that but he said it was worth it.
