hey i know it sounds crazy, but it's only for the time being. and sorry if it's already been addresed but i didn't find it and i'm really in a hurry. i have a 1g awd, will a 1g fwd tranny bolt right in? and if not is there anything to do to make it work?

Yes it will. But I can't remeber if the axles will fit. But I believe they will. If the tranny is from a 90-91 you may need to take the bracket that holds your shifter cables off the 92 tranny and move it to the other one. I think thats about it.

thanks for the info man, anybody knows anything about the axles needing to be changed?

It depends what year fwd trans you have. All AWD's have the smaller diamater axles and only 90-92.5 FWD's have the smaller axles. After that, 92.5+ FWD's have larger diamater axles that won't fit in the smaller axle trans'. Also depending on the year FWD trans you have you may need to change the shifter cables/brackets etc for proper shifting. And like above is posted you need a FWD flywheel with a FWD trans.

How long is temporary? Have you ever thought about getting a welded VC and removing the rear driveshaft? It would be a lot less work. If you are doing this because your AWD tranny is shot just disregard what I just said.
