My car wont come out of gear . I don't know what gear it is stuck in.. I can move the stick around.. Seems like it is out of gear but when i let up the clutch it wants to go or start to die.

the stick will only go into four gears.. unknown on what they are ....

Im way confused.. anyone else ever had a similiar problem

Sounds to me that something is definitely up with your shifter cables perhaps....

For the clutch, try doing the clutch adjustment:

http://www.roadraceengineering.com/clutchandflywheeltech.htm

I had the opposite happen with me. My clutch wouldn't fully engage. If you go this route, keep in mind that something as little as a half turn can make a big difference between the clutch not engaging enough, or it engaging too much, which is waht seems to be the prob for you.

Hope this helps you out,

Phoenix

thanks gave me a starting point at least.. let you know how it works out

I got my car stuck into 5th gear on an N/T. Happened to hit every light too :thumbdown Talk about lag...

My cables and started comeing apart and were actually keeping them from moving. You say you can move your shifter all around though??? I would have somebody watch the cables at the tranny to see if they move when you move the shifter. If not, you're cables either came off from your shifter assembly or are broken inside.

sounds logical.. because they do move. aroudn the tranny on the outside.
