Hey guys I have a quick question. I have a 1997 Gst that's pretty built and I was wondering how much is a reasonable price to swap my engine into a 2g AWD Eclipse. My engine is a 6 bolt that is currently in my GST and I would want to know how much does it typically cost to swap the engine over to a 2g AWD eclipse. Also other things that would get swapped would be the turbo and such. Anyone have a ball park price of how much a straight swap would be? This question has been probably beat to death ( I tried searching and all I would get was the prototypical 4g63 into a 420a car). Thanks for your help, and just for reference I am in the Northeast just in case that makes my prices higher . Thanks again.

Are you talking like you have your GST and then GSX shell and just want to swap into the GSX? If thats the case, the engine bays are exactly the same with the exception of the awd trans and t-case. Or are you asking how much would it cost for a shop to do the swap?

Yup you got it exactly. I have the gst and I found a shell for pretty cheap. The question is how much does a job like this normally run? Also the engine in my gst is a 6bolt.

If you are putting your engine in an AWD car, You will need an AWD flywheel, Most importantly. Along with an AWD starter plate.

As for how much it cost to remove and engine, And re-install it (assuming the other car does not have any engine, You can do it cheaper yourself, But most shops charge $1,000+ to remove an engine, And install a new one. I know that is how much I've awlays charge, With all fluids included.
