Hey guys I am currently in the middle of building a FWD turbo eclipse. It was originally a n/t 2.0 and i keep having people tell me fwd dsm's are junk and cant be built, so i wanted to prove them wrong. I dropped in a 6-bolt with stock 1g rods with evo8 pistons on them for an 8.8 compression. New bearings water pump and such. I have a total of $1,600 into this car including buying it. I have a big16g, an evo8 fmic, stock injectors, MAFT, ported manifold and such, stock 1g awd down pipe to stock exhaust (cat back). Walbro 255 installed with -6 fuel line tank to filter, new valve guide seals, and thats about it. I am wondering what you guys think i should do, or where i should go from here. I have 450 miles on the motor right now holding at 10lbs for break in purposes. As suspected the tranny is garbage but its a dsm what do u expect. I also have a act 2600 clutch as well. So any feedback from here would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

1st gear is almost non-existint so i give it about 70% throttle just to get goin without just roasting the hell out of the tires, 2nd gear full throttle the tires roast as soon as boost hits but then it gets traction and pulls hard, shift into 3rd and chirp the tires and its nothing but a hard pull from there on up. If your a good driver you should have no problem getting a good run in. Of course an awd launching at high rpms is going to kill you off the line, keep it cool and you'll catch em. I have beaten many cars that i shouldnt of been able to beat just because they didnt know how to drive. I would also do a large weight reduction. Dropping the weight of our fwds to 2,300-2,400lbs is relatively easy. If you really want to kick some ass get some slicks and lightweight wheels. Im doing the same thing you are, i've been told fwd's suck get an awd plenty of times, but everyone is really impressed when i give them a ride or smoke their car. Kinda helps with the whole underdog/sleeper kind of thing.
