Morning All,
I've got a problem with my transmission going on right now and I would like to gain some insight on what path I should take in curing it.
Within the past 2-3 months, my car has gradually began slipping on initial start from a complete stop. It usually takes about 300-500 extra rpm before my car goes, and when it does go, it feels like it is slammed into gear. Once going it shifts fine both up and down. Does this sound like a torque converter going out?
My list is up to date but as far as trans work goes I have an external trans cooler since my Koyo radiator doesn't support it. As well, a magnafine trans fluid inline filter. Otherwise, there has been no work done to it in the past 2 years, I replaced the torque converter seal back then (Could that be causing the problem now?) And before anyone asks, yes, the fluid is full and is a nice red.
Does a simple flush sound reasonable in solving this issue? I bought a brand new OEM filter to replace as well so maybe that's clogging it up. What do you guys think? Thanks for your help in advance
