91 fwd auto trans

Hello I have a 91 fwd auto trans and it stays in 3rd gear so its in limped mode i believe. I pulled out the tcu and it was burnt up a leaky cap and burnt chip. I cant seem to find one so would a non-turbo same 3 plug in work? I know the shifts will be different but I just want to get all gears to work until i get the tcu that is for the car. also how long can i use tha non-turbo tcu if it works? Thanks for your help

The non turbo one should work, if it's a front wheel drive...Idk, check the part numbers, if it's the same your good....

okay thanks but if i use my same part number is the type of tcu i cant find around my area. The only place is the dealer ship and they want $800.00 for a brand new one i think thats way too much. but ill try a non-turbo for now until i find one anyone got a good one?

Check your local craigslist for someone parting out an auto...Or our classified system, might have a few part outs to look through...

can you get the part number off your fwd tcu please..I was just in CAPS and it's showing a couple of different tcu's...The way it looked, there was only 2 different tcu's, but I could have been reading it wrong..

If I had another one myself I'd send it to ya...

Ok here are the 1g part numbers for the TCU..I'm going to say that you should stay with the same part number..Find a partout or ebay..

MD738998 91-92 FWD, 1.8L
MD750092- 90-92 AWD
MD750093 91-92 FWD, w/turbo
MD750525 91-92 FWD, 2.0L, w/o turbo
MD754075 93-94 FWD, w/turbo
MD754076 93-94 AWD
MD754077 93 FWD, 1.8L
