So recently I come across this FWD '90 Laser shell, with the block, head, and trans sitting in the trunk for $300 (same price I got Christine for). I decided to pick up where I left off and go for a light FWD 14b setup. I'm also going to try and test some things out along the way, such as 1G head/intake vs 2G head/EVO3 intake. I'd also like to try a couple types of cams with the 14b like 264s & FP1Xs. Once the car is dialed in and I can max out the 14b setup, I may throw an HTA68 on it.

On to the pics, here's how she looked as delivered:

This build is dedicated to my DSM sister Wendy, you can read about her build in this thread

I picked up a cheap used FMIC:

Started some clean up on the engine bay, almost ready to drop the engine in:

First trash can full of weight reduction, way more to come:

Super light OEM Enkei wheels, 14 lbs each. I plan on running full slicks on 15s at the track.

I picked up a 2G awhile back with a built engine that I parted out.

So that's where I'm at right now. I'm waiting on a few parts to come in from JNZ (forward facing filter housing, prothane mount bushings, LSD, wideband, and some OEM gaskets and bolts). Then I'll be ready to drop the engine in. The plan is to run DSMlink V3 lite with speed density. I'll be using a single 255 pump and some 950-1050 injectors, most likely on E85. Updates to come!

I wish I knew what they were from, I bought them on ebay a few years back and they were just listed as OEM Enkei wheels, seller had no clue what they were from. I'm guessing maybe they're from some non-US market car, or maybe a dealer upgrade option or something.

I'm planning a very similar build on my 90 Laser that I'll eventually be converting to E85. I'll keep up with your blog to see how the progress goes. And I wouldn't mind a set of those wheels for the track either!
