I know that it has been a while since I have updated my blog. This project is not a "im in a hurry and need to finish it so i can drive it" type project. As you can tell from the 1st page pics it is a complete tear down and restore with a little spice:cool:... More importantly it is a "as time and money comes" project...like everyone else, times got tough with the economy/work this past winter/spring so i didnt get anything done and actually tried to sell the car. In the long run i decided to keep it and work towards finishing it. I still havent got much done but here are a few pics for you to check out...doing a build like this is very time consuming so bare with me especially when im only home 3days a week.
thanks guys

I got both pop-up headlight assemblies torn apart, sanded, cleaned and coated. The plastic headlight trim was also cleaned and dyed black for a much more fresh and new look. There is also an aluminum ring that holds the actual seal headlight in place, that was also cleaned and polished.

I also managed to tear out the shifter assembly and ebrake assembly and got them torn apart so that they can be sand blasted and powder coated as well since I am not going back with my center console.

Dude! Those headlights look awesome now. I just had mine apart replacing a fender and to be honest, I'd have been happy if they looked like your before pictures... Are you going to go with a JNZ short shifter or keep the stock piece?

I plan on running just the stock shifter. Im debating taking an inch out of the neck before i drop it off at the powder coaters today.

thanks man...still have a long way to go...

How did the powder coating go? I actually hadn't thought of using PC to clean up my shifter and base before.

those pistons look so awesome i have heard nothing but good things about them you are going to love the low compression they have cause you should be able to get some really good timing out of that motor :)
