I'm putting together my list of parts I want to get over time. The fuel system will be first.

I have a '91 GSX, and it already has an SBR small 16g on it. But I dont know how good it is. Let's assume I'm going to build off it.

Walbro 255
Aeromotive AFPR and fuel rail
650's
SBR street FMIC kit
2g ported manifold
GM MAFT
ACT 2600
MBC
DSMlink
Greddy RS BOV
3 inch turbo back exhaust

I'm going for a good street/strip car, and I'm trying to set it up so that when its time for a bigger turbo, say an EVO III or something like that, I wont have to do too much more. just want to know what you guys think about that, and if I forgot anything. :dsm:

Not a bad list but i hope your pockets are deep :thumb:
Also if your going to keep the S16g I think that 550's should be efficent enough for it.

It gets addicting, but the fun part is watching your parts wishlist get smaller. ROFL

What are your goals for the car? How much do you have to spend? Just remember that if you throw all of that on your car in one downtime and something isn't working right, then you have a whole lot of stuff to check/fix. Keep that in mind.

What are your goals for the car? how many miles are on it?
*edit* Alex you beat me to it haha

Well, this is just future stuff, you know? I'll probably start this summer when I can work more. My ultimate goal is low 13's - high 12's by the end, maybe with some room to grow. I'm not going to do all this at once. One mod at a time.

Edit- Its not going to happen too fast, LOL. I'll give it a year or two.

Well the S16g or the B16g could both get you there but I think once you get there you'll want to go faster LOL.

Thanks a lot. The only thing I dont like about the s16g on it is that its clipped. I don't know why the previous owner did that. Still spools pretty good, and pulls awesome for running stock boost. I'm gonna check it out though, because it seems like it might be leaking oil.

Yes before you go doing mods make sure your car is in good running condition. You might want to pick up a logger when you start turning up the boost.

haha alex, your right i just didn't want to tell him how to spend his money LOL.

Yea, thats up on the list. I want to use DSMlink, because I have a laptop. Does anyone know if the laptop has to be on the car at all times, or if it will save the changes and stuff to the ecu? My laptop isn't that great, i wouldnt want it to shut off and have something get messed up.

i was suggesting the logger before shelling out 700$ for dsmlink, and you know that you have to have a eprom ecu as well right?

I think your best bet right now is to decide on some goals that you have, check in the 1/4 mile times/dyno area and look at what everyone else is running to achieve their goals. Based off of that look into each product you buy and compare it to other similar products and figure out which one would best suit your goals for the car. Making a big mod list is fun when you first get into it, but buying something twice sucks.

All excellent points. Thanks guys.

Even if you go with an EvoIII16G turbo or even a 50 trim, you don't need a 255 pump and an AFPR. You can get away with a 190 pump.

The new version of DSMLink which is supposed to come out in a few months will have a MAFT on it, so you can save $200 on the MAFT. The GM product is the MAF, not the MAFT.

There is no reason to buy a 190lph fuel pump if you are also planning on buying an adjustable FPR unless it would be to keep the noise down, in which case you shouldn't have purchased a DSM to mod. The idea behind getting a larger pump than needed is to regulate the fuel pressure so that it is like stock, only you will not run out of fuel. Why take a chance and maxing out your 190 in the future when you can get a 255 for the same price?
