I was wondering what all was the same and different between a 1g block that was turbo'd and not... as far as rods, crank, head flow, and intake, tb...

i'm wanting to do a 6 bolt swap, and just wondered what all would bereusabble.. and not

thnx Justin :talon:

ditch the pistons and the cams and you should be set. after torching piston number 2 i'm using somet stock pistons and rods on a 6 bolt nt crank and block for my new motor.

The differences are:

- NA has no oil squirters (and no oil line for them)
- NA has higher compression pistons
- NA has lower compression valves (If you need a photo to show what I mean, just ask)
- NA head has a different throttle body design. I'm not sure if it's just that flange. I believe some of the connectors are different.
- Intake manifolds are the same except for the bracket that mounts on the back of the manifold and the block. The turbo model has small pipes on it for connecting vacuum lines.
- NA doesn't include a knock sensor, but it should work on the NA block as long as you thread it in.
- Camshafts are better on the Turbo model (and even better on the MT Turbo)
- Turbo model includes oil line and coolant lines for the turbo
- Turbo model has a different thermostat housing to accomodate the turbo coolant send line
- Turbo model has an oil cooling ring that goes on the oil filter housing
- Turbo model has a different main water line with a pipe for the oil filter cooling ring and a flange for the turbo coolant return line

Other than that, I can't think of anything but the obvious differences in the exhaust manifold, but you didn't ask about that, and you most likely know that already.
