hey i was on evolutionm.net and im realy interested in the evo8 ecu conversion. ive seen a few people do away with the closed loop and just run the car on open loop all the time... so i was wondering what are the pros and cons of this setup?

I would also like to know the pro's and con's of running full time open loop. Anyone care to share there opinions?

Getting your open loop running without relying on the O2 feedback is safer incase something happenes to your oxygen sensor, you are still going to be good on AFR's.

Another thing, running closed loop at idle sometimes could give you "idle hunt".

Closed loop is nice to use sometimes as a safety feature when adding boost. Other than that i usually prefer not to rely on it at all or maybe +/-5%
