110 octane with open loop

I've been trying to set up a tune on my car for 110 octane because racing season is almost here again Anywho, i've already killed one o2 sensor with leaded fuel. Would there be anyway to make the car stay in open loop so I could plug the o2sensor bung at the track and not have to worry about killing another o2?

In open loop it uses the high trim.

Yeah he is talking about the fuel trims, which are viewable via a datalogger/mmcd. The numbers range from 81-139 which was said. The optimal target is 100, with higher being lean and less than 100 being rich. There are low,mid,high fuel trims. low is for idle, mid-part throttle, and high wot.

That is so far from the truth. Lots of things can break on stock boost levels.

1g ecu only uses o2 feedback during closed loop to achieve the 14.7a/f

but I Think that you are misunderstanding what jrohner is tring to saying

would be any where from 81.2 to 139,. ...
is If your tuning any 1g the Hight trim is going to have to settle before you should do any WOT tunning since if it changes after Word it would change the open loop maps..

It does have validity. It lets the OP know the reason it is fine to run in open loop without his narrowband o2 sensor. Other than just saying, "yeah, just take it out, youre good" which is fine too, but if i started this thread I would like to know why it is fine. The trims were further mentioned about the range from 81-139 so when he has a logger, hell have an idea of something to tune off of.
