Full build installed. Won't start.

So I got my new engine back and dropped quickly Its been problem after problem. Had a bunch of sensors and relays blow, o-rings leaked, my new oil cooler gave me trouble... But ive finally gotten it close. It now sputters when starting and will sometimes start and then immediately die. Ihave checked the codes with a obd2 code reader and it's oddly saying that it's a p0340 code (crank angle sensor) which my engine doesn't even have. (95 7-bolt).

I have 3 harness plugs that have no homes that I can find. I ran the wire colors in against a diagram and the orange plug should be a cam sensor (again there was never a sensor on my head before) I don't know the other 2 but I'm guessing one is AC related and the other one(not pictured) might be a knock sensor.

I got it to run once and then shut it quickly off because of a leak.


Any ideas?

Timing was verified.
It has fuel pressure,
New plugs, wires, coil and relays, and everything else is hooked up.

p0340 is a camshaft angle sensor fault code.

You do have a camshaft angle sensor (CAS). It just happens to be in a different position on the 95-96 DSMs. Yours is on the timing side under the intake camshaft pulley. Make sure it's plugged in!

It sounds like you may not have the engine grounded well enough. Dsm's are very finicky with grounding everything on the eng. With relays and sensors "blowing" as you say, there had to be voltage going thru things it shouldn't. Take your time and check all connections and seals on your install. Don't get in a hurry, it only costs money and time. You can download a manual for your 95 at 95-96EL or find one for sale( I like the paper manual over the computer one). Grab a voltmeter and relax with a 6 pack. Then start checking your sensors and wiring. I know this sounds generic but there may be quite a few issues you need to look at and it usually helps to start at square one.
