so im doing a fuel pump rewire on my colt. I ran some 10 gauge wire off my battery (in trunk) up to the front to power 3 gauges. the wire just happens to run next to the fuel pump sending unit harness. My question is can I just tap into that 10 gauge wire for the 12v to the relay or should I use another dedicated 10 gauge wire from the battery? I have the wire fused with a 7.5a fuse i believe.

i would run a new one for the fuel pump. you should be good with a 20A fuse, the painless wiring kit uses a 30A

He wants to tap into an existing 10ga wire that happens to be in the vicinity. I would run new 10ga wire with a 30a fuse to the battery. It'll be easier for you since the battery is closer. I made my own rewire kit for under $20 utilizing home depot and eBay.
