ok so i was trying to change my fuel pump on my 97 gsx and when i got to the fuel lines it looks like no one has ever changed it before...when i attempted to try and separate them...the bolts wouldnt move at all...instead it kinda looked like the line was twisting...for your information i has holding the 19 in nut still while trying to turn the 14 in nut loose

any ideas on what i could do?

I ran into the same problem and didn't want to twist that hardline off rendering the fuel pump hanger useless. If you jack the back passenger side tire up and get under the car you'll see where that flex line drops down and connects to another hardline that runs the length of the car. Try breaking it free from there and pull the fp hanger out the with the flex line still attached.

Whatever you do DON'T let the hardline twist or else you'll be SOL...

Had the same problem with mine couldn't get either the top or bottom free. I ended up just cutting the soft line and putting a 90* elbow in it. Not the best way by any means i did it as a last resort but it's holding up just fine.

I had the same problem and I just cut the sheet like metal about 3 or 4 inches and folded the two pieces upward towards the inside of the car.. It gave me enough room to pull everything as a whole out of the tank and do what I had to do.. My 2 cents.. Goodluck!!

Go buy some PB blaster and i know this is gonna sound retarded but spray the lines let them sit 5 mins ... spray again and tap on the fitting (HARD) for a little while and spray again. It works hands down ...

I had to do this to my Colt GT when i replaced the pump they were rusted to death took me 2hrs but not 1 bent line.
