2G Fuel pump relay/MPI relay buzzing/clicking

I believe they are one and the same. I'm having issues with mine I think.

Mine will not shut off, no key in ignition and its buzzing and clicking. If I pull the MFI fuse it stop, also I can tap ECU, antenna cable and remove room fuse and it will stop buzzing for a few moments.

I'm so fed up with problems after problems. Any help would be great

i am having a similar problem, where is this fuse located?

The fuse is on the positive battery termanal. I found the reason it was doing this, it's all good now.

I thought you had a problem with the fuel pump, I am also thinking on how to repair this thing. I think I need to consult a friend or a mechanic. I am a noob guys I don't know anything about this.

I'm having an issue with my 95 TSI and I'm almost positive that its the MPI/MFI relay cause when I hit the key the pump primes then i can start the car.

I leave it run for like 15 to 20 mins and it shuts down, the pump runs the whole time but then clicks off. I start it up like 3 or 4 more times and it does it every time then on the last shut off the pump comes off and on a few times and I can hear the clicking coming from the center console on passenger side floor where the relay is located.

Anyone else having this issue? I almost wanna say that its the relay and since mine is the earlier 95 its the gold metal relay instead of the 2 plastic ones they switched to in the late 95's

I just had my relay out today (1G, but still gold metal casing) and it's pretty easy to test. I'm not an expert, but after looking at and testing mine I'd say you're having intermittent power issues, perhaps a dying battery like the OP.

The relay is an electromagnet so when power is applied it closes the circuit. If it's clicking, you must not be getting continuous voltage.

You may be right. I had the car down for about 7 months and I think maybe the battery is possibly dying. I guess I'm gonna try to get it tested and see if that's the problem.

If this isn't a DD, invest in a battery charger. They are cheaper than a new battery and really help prolong the life of your battery. Especially if it sits for long periods of time.

Does anyone know where the fuel pump relay is on a 96 Eclipse Spyder 2.4 SOHC?

I have looked at all the usual locations firewall around the inside fuse box.
