I bought this car modded, and it's been getting extremely horrible gas mileage (15mpg or less). Since is has a 16g... i'm assuming whoever had the car before me was hopefully smart enough to do some fuel system upgrades along with the turbo, and maybe just took out the afc and sold it or something. I did read that it might have been a fuel leak, but nothing's leaking onto the driveway and i never smell gasoline in or around the car... now for my questions...

1) Is there a way to tell which fuel pump i have (and if it's rewired), without actually taking it out (noob tuner). Can i just remove the back seats and look for a number or something?

2) How do i find/take out my injectors to figure out what size they are... keep in mind i'm a noobie :(

Thanks :thumb:

There's no way to tell about the fuel pump without either taking it out or questioning the former owner. As far as injectors, look at the tops of them, in a 2G they are usually green or black. If they are RC's you'll def know since they say RC in huge letters on the top.

If the last owner put a high pressure fuel pump there maybe a buzzing noise coming from the back of the car, like mine.

I've never noticed a buzzing noise coming from the rear before... would i be able to hear it over the exhaust (3 inch catback... i think OMG )? I just resently got the code for my stereo too... so if i would be able to hear it over the exhaust... i never heard it with the radio off for 2 months.

I was looking through the vfaq.com thing on installing a fuel pump, and I was wondering how far i would have to go with taking everything apart until i'd find something that would tell me what kind it was. Also, when i was looking at the pictures... there are some numbers on the top of the pump... the numbers wouldn't tell me what kind it is or anything? Here's the link if anyone wants to look ;)... http://www.vfaq.com/mods/pump-WB-2GAWD.html

The numbers should be a part number for the fuel pump, however there is still no way to see the number without removing the fuel pump.

I was just looking at my injectors this morning, and they have a black cap, but the part under the cap was a greyish color... is there somewhere i can go to find out what color matches what size?

I just took out the back seats and took off the fuel pump cover to see if there was a buzzing sound. I heard one with the cover off and everything, and now i can still hear it with the cover and seats back on... i must have just never noticed it before. Does that mean i have a certain pump or anything? or do i still have to take it apart :(

Are you sure it is a 16G on the car?

If it was my car I would buy new stuff and KNOW what I am running in my car.

yes, i'm sure there's a 16G... not sure what size yet though. I have checked out the fins and the numbers etc.

and i don't have the money right now to replace injectors/fuel pump. I'm getting a new clutch/flywheel installed on monday, and i still need new tires, rear shocks, and an s-afc/logger to tune out some of my probs and stuff.
