I feel like a newbie since I cant figure out why my hardwire to my fuel pump keeps blowing and my car wont start. I was driving along and it just died. Checked my fuse to the fuel pump (hardwire line) and it was blown, replaced it and it just blows over and over.

Replaced the hardwire
bypassed the hardwire install altogether

Car wont start!

If anyone has any idea, please share!

What size fuse are you running??

My rewire kit required a 30A fuse and running the pump through a relay.

There is a short somewhere between the fuse and the pump, or the pump itself has a fused armature. I run a 30 amp fuse at the battery straight to a 90 amp switch, no relay. Just run it stock until you get a new wire that doesn't short out.

Yeah its got a 30 amp fuse. I also bypassed the wire with a new one and it still blows ot the fuse. I ran it stock and it wont run either:banghead:

Sounds like you might have fried the pump. Without being able to get the pump to run it'll be hard to verify.

What did you do to "bypass the hardwire" that you said in your OP. Can you run a wire (no fuse) straight from the battery to the pos' terminal and ground the other side and see if you can hotwire the pump directly, not going through a fuse or stock wiring?
