I was wondering if any of the people on this site with higher horsepower dsms were running them on there dsm still? I took mine off a while back ago and have sense used it on my 1g bov for the gus mod. It is time to get my car smoged before I throw the new turbo on and I am having a bit of trouble getting a nice steady idle and such, do you guys think the fps has something to do with it? I only ask because some people use to swear that it did not make a difference in the way your car ran, but they also said the same thing about blocking the coolant lines on your stock throttle body:( . I will try to reverse the gus mod for now and see if the fuel pressure solenoid makes that big of a difference, but I would still like some input.
thanks for the help
edit: It would also be cool if anybody knew were I could buy a fuel pressure solenoid. Thanks again.

Normally the FPS connects the FPR to the intake manifold. When the FPS is activated it disconnects the FPR from the manifold and connects it to the atmosphere.

During cranking and at idle the pressure in the intake manifold is less than atmospheric causing the FPR to lower the fuel pressure from the base setting. By connecting the FPR to atmosphere during hot starts the FPS cases the fuel pressure to be higher (base) that it would have been helping to avoid vapor lock.

When the car is running normally there should be any difference between having the FPS installed or running a hose directly from the intake manifold to the reference pressure nipple on the FPR or any impact on smog.

Thanks for the information, but do you still run yours? What I had noticed a while back ago when I took it off was that there was less knock in the top end. They use to say that the fps gets stuck sometimes and causes the fuel pressure not to go up with boost, so you obviously get lean knock. It is good for cold starts and warm starts to huh, so maybe I should just put it back on. I use to have to crank the engine less when I had it in, and it use to idle better. My main question is will it affect anything as the power in my car goes up? I use to think it did with the lean knock senario.
thanks for the help
plus, anybody have one that they don't need? shoot me a pm. thanks again.

I still have mine connected as well with my Aeromotive afpr. I have never had any issues with it.
