I am going to be needing one shortly, but do not want to spend $270 on one. Is there a cheaper one made that will work just as efficently w/o making me broke?

This is an actual Aeromotive? Seems like a really good deal. Thank you.

I used the Megan Racing regulator with some miscelaneous fittings from the parts store and it worked fine. Cost was under $140 if I remember correctly.

I heard something about the Megan Racing regulator not raising boost on a 1:1 ratio. Any info on this? Can you confirm or deny?

Also, after I buy and install one, Do I just adjust the fpr at idle to be 43psi then leave it alone and never touch it again?

I'm not trying to split hairs, but I believe that combo comes with the regular 255 pump. It's the same one I have, and I'm pretty sure I don't have an HP.
If you click on the pump link in the link above, this is what it says - Walbro High Pressure In-tank 255lph Fuel Pump. I was just going by their site.

That's really weird. When you look at just their fuel pumps, they list the 2 types independently. However, the pump + install kits section only offers one. Now I'm wondering if I do have an HP! I suppose I'll have to give them a call. Thanks for showing me that, Dee.

I heard this as well, so I tested it to 75 psi and it's 1:1.

I bought this kit a couple months ago. It was a pretty straight forward install. Everything you need (and more) comes with the kit. All you need to do before you put it in is

1. Take out the spring that comes in the FPR, and put in the higher pressure one they provide in the kit

2. Buy some different Teflon tape. The kind that's included (blue/white) dissolves in gasoline. Go to your local Home Depot, Builder's Square, Ace, whatever and buy some yellow/black kind. This kind is resistant to gasoline.

Other than that, you should have it installed in no time. This is really a great kit that is put together well and is priced right. Good luck!

your talking about the Megan one right?
So are all FPR's set to 1:1 or is that something that you can change? If the gauge displays psi, how do you keep track if it's a 1:1 ?
Also, Does the Megan come with a fitting that plugs into the fuel rail?

No I was talking about the Import Evolution Aeromotive Install Kit.

I have one from www.summitracing.com, Mallory 4305M. It's a really good unit and is $99. Got a gauge, fittings, and braided stainless line there too. Also, I got an Aluminum fuel rail adaptor from Slowboy and it all came to $165 or $170.

Actually I got the regulator for $80 on ebay. But still, it's cheaper and easy to do with some know-how.
