fuel pressure regulator HELP!!

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

The line from the tank goes to the nipple on the right side of the AFPR in that pic, then a line goes from the bottom nipple to the fuel rail. Also people will usually mount it on the firewall in the area where the cruise control motor would be.

The size you should use should be the size that matches the barbs on the regulator.

2g Fuel pressure is 43.5 psi with the vacuum line unplugged and capped off.

He's running a 420A with a turbo. Are you sure...? I'd suggest asking that question in the 420A area, just to be sure. the 43.5 is stock FP on a 2g turbo. Just want to make sure you get it right the first time. :thumb:

I believe the size is 6-an, but like Jim said what ever size fits:p:D
Actally Jim it should be set to 43.6psi:p here's a link explaining everything>>>http://www.vfaq.com/mods/FPR.html

1G and 2G n/t's FP is set to 47.6psi at zeropsi, but since he is running a turbo, it will be 43.6psi at zero psi.

Good call pnishr, you always make valid points (IMO).

I didn't notice the n/t swap...I usually don't make that mistake. Please check correct turbo swap f/p. The value I gave was for factory turbo cars.

If he was still n/t he would run a 47.6psi at zeroo psi, but since he turboed it he will run the turboed FP of 43.6psi at zero.

what do u mean unplug the vacum
There was a vaccum line going to your stock FPR you have to plug it with a cap, your finger or a golf tee. Read the info on the link I gave you it will help out.
EDIT: Beat me to it Jim by less then a minute.LOL

There is a hose going to the stock FPR on your car. When you install the new regulator it has to be put on the small nipple on your new FPR.

When setting the base pressure with the adjustment screw you have to pull off the hose and plug it with a golf tee or a screw.

It is suggested that the adjustment screw and vacuum nipple are sealed with teflon tape to prevent boost leaks and insufficient fuel pressure.
