Let me just start off by saying, thank you for any info I may receive here LOL. I haven't had a fun car in a long time and decided to pick up this 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. Ill add some photos that list all of the things that have been done to it that I got from the recent owner. I'm new to the Eclipse so here I am.

PROBLEM
Ive had this car maybe a couple of weeks, I have driven it a handful of times no issues. Last night I took it to get gas filled it up and drove it home. This was the first time I've filled it since having it. Went out to the garage today to grab some things and it smelled like gas big time. Looking under the car real quick there was definitely gas that had leaked out (will attach pic) onto the floor and there was a teeny tiny slow drip still coming from the bottom of the car.

Will add more photos tomorrow when it's day light.

It sounds like you would need to replace the fuel tank sending unit gasket(s). When it goes bad, you start to smell the fuel always in the cabin and would see the leak under the car when fill up the tank. If that's the case, you would see some sign of leakage if you remove the rear seat.
This one.

I'll get the back seat out and take a look today. In the short time I've had the car I haven't smelled any gas till I came out and seen it on the ground after that first fill up. Is it just one gasket on there? The site references two? Also can this be done from the back or is the tank gonna need to be dropped?

Thanks again for any info, super noob here.

There are two sending units under the rear seat. One is for pump, one is for gauge. You would need one gasket per unit.

You don't need to drop the tank.
Please refer to the link below. You can probably get some idea what you would need to do.

Awesome, thanks for that. All the upgrades, parts and work done to this were done in the last 12k miles including the new fuel pump. So maybe it's that one or maybe it's the other one since it possibly hasn't been messed with ever. Seat removal today to get a look first. I'll update later for sure.

If your ventilation system is clogged or faulty, it can exacerbate fuel leaks. I have no doubt the gaskets need replacement, but proper ventilation is key. Even with leaky gaskets or lines, you shouldn't have a pool of fuel on the ground after parking. Unless you have excess pressure forcing it out. Or a damaged fuel tank.

There a "quick" way to check the ventilation system while I'm looking around?

Any problem above the resting fuel level won't cause a pool of fuel. Unless there is a lack of ventilation. However, any leak at or below the resting fuel level will leak substantially. We won't know until the OP finds the exact source of the leak. Good luck and best wishes. :)

Update!

Took the back seat out to check both sending units and not a single leak at all. Ran the car and went for a drive same as the night it was leaking and not a single leak...

Possibly when its being filled it leaks from the line that goes to the tank or the tank has a leak somewhere high on it? It was obviously full at the gas station and when I started it today it was just under full so it didn't lose too much gas but it certainly didn't fix its self either LOL.

Happy to see it not leak after all the checks but still gotta find the culprit.

Did you refill the fuel tank the same level as when it was leaking? Bad gasket or some bad hoses would start leaking when the fuel level exceeds some certain level.
