Stoney Creek,
This afternoon I changed my spark plugs and things were pretty cool. Went out for a little drive, things are good. Parked the car and proceeded to screw down the black cover for the plugs. Finishing this, place all my tools away and went to start the car one more time for good measure.

Yup, the cars started but with a rough idle. I was not sure what cause this! With the car running I quickly removed the black cover and made sure that all the plug wires were seated correctly. Nothing wrong there...As I moved the black plug cover thingy, I accidentally moved one of the injector wires...and the rough idle went away.

I proceeded to move the other injectors...and guess what? Yup ROUGH idle. With some time I moved the wires back and forth until the rough idle was gone.

Has anyone come across this? And how to fix this?

Will

Nope...the plugs are fine. Prior to install I compared them to the old ones.
I searched and found nothing as of yet for this issue.

Boy, don't I feel like a bone head!
I will check. Thanks, sometimes people get caught up in things.
I will check later this morning.

The clips are ok, from what I can tell.

I only have issues when I move that actual wire section!

It sounds like the wires are not seated in the clip anymore. You should take the harness off the injector, and look at the pin outs, and where the wire connects to the injector, and see if there is any play. There should be some, but it may be to much.

Also, I dont know if this is ok, but die-electric grease CAN help a electrical connection. Dont use this unless someone else chimes in saying its ok, but Im sure as long as you dont get a cross connection through the grease, you should be fine. HTH

keep in mind that the wires to the injectors get brittle over time and is a good idea to just swamp them all out and use the better injector connecters that are availible.

I rewired my injectors about 8 inches into the harness on each injector and the new injector clips are great for taking off and installing when messing with the injectors.

I dont know the rule about posting a vendor link so check your pm for the link.

the link i sent him in pm was cheaper hehe
i sent it in pm because i didnt know if it was allowed to post it on open forums?

Actually, Steve's were cheaper ;) Your link is a set of 4 ($3.00/each), his is a set of 8 ($2.00/each). Not that buck makes that big of a difference though :thumb:
