My Oil smells as if it has oil in it and its smoking blue from the exhaust at idle and WOT. My spark plugs are also black which leads me to think it is running rich as well. Any1 have any ideas?

Is the only modification that you have the evo III 16g or do your have more modifications.
Also is that an ebay special or a tru evoIII

Do you have any oil puddles on the floor or did u check if your spraying oil anywhere in your enginebay.
also give us some more info like boost level, tuning system, size injectors, mileage and such

Do your plugs have oil on them or is it like black sute. If it's oil then I'd say fried rings. Do a compression text. If it's low put like a cap full of oil and let it sit a little, and redo the test. Post back your results

That should be normal I would think. But I know the title says it. Change you spark plugs, oil and oil filter. Make sure they are gapped right and see if that helps.

Oil smells like gasoline, and the exhaust is very blue? My first thought would be to say your rings have had it. +1 to compression test, and if the capful of oil raises your compression significantly, you could be looking at a rebuild

I recommend not driving the car until you get the problem figured out...and once you do, change the oil immediately.

The gasoline in the oil is washing the bearings and prematurely wearing all of the engine's internals while it's running.

Either injectors are leaking or piston rings. Blow by is the only way to get gas in the oil other than the rings

+1 definatly fix it asap

Black sute

You might just have a leaky injector thats over fueling

How would i check for a leaking injector

Didnt see any oil puddles and not spraying any oil. Running 14psi, no tuning system, Stock JDM injectors, 192000 on chasi, 70000 on motor

trying to get a hold of a gauge to run a test.

When did this happened .

Go back to what you did before, take a comp. test but unless this has been gradually I dont think it is a ring problem maybe a leaking injector better yet do a leak down test.

about a year ago my clutch went out so i parked it in the garage and left it sit.. a few months ago i installed an 02 dump.. i just started it up last week and it started doing this.

Have you taken a comp test again, you may have stuck rings from the car sitting so long.

In that case it is not the end of the world get some MARVEL MYSTERY OIL, pour it into each one of the cyl. let it sit for a couple of days, after the first day rotate the engine by hand just a 1/4 turn, after the 2nd day get the oil out as much as possible put a new set or ones that are not fouled plugs, be careful when getting oil out of cyl. it can get messy, you can crank the engine to get as much of the oil out after you have turn it by hand and removed as much as you can, put the plugs in and drive around a few days.

Before driving it of course you have changed the oil and filter.

good luck.

Clarification on blow by.

Blow by is commonly refer when compression or air in the case of a LEAK DOWN TEST escapes thru the cyl. rings usually due to worn out rings, stuck or broken rings, you will hear a hiss thru the oil filler hole or the dipstick and of course the oil drain plug in the oil pan.

This test is more precise than a comp. test it will narrow the problem to a specific cyl
in case of large discrepancies.

You will also determine if you have a bad valve or head gasket by listening on the intake, exh, tail pipe and looking for bubble in radiator.

On 4 cyl.engines is more difficult to keep the piston you are doing on tdc so sometimes help is needed.

It is measured by a % normally 15% being a pretty tight engine, but do not be alarmed if 30% leak shows up as long as the engine idles even, there are no major problems
