Like the title says for some reason im getting gas in my oil was just wondering what could be causing this. The car is a 94 eagle talon tsi with a 6 bolt swap pretty much bone stock besides aluminum smic piping boost controller and boost gauge I have had the car for a couple years but have not drove it much due to second gear being broken in the trans. Now that I just got my trans rebuilt ive been driving it a bit the past couple days I pulled the dip stick and noticed a strong smell of gas.So I drained the oil and it is very thin. The car also has a problem starting it has to crank over more than it should before it wants to start up almost acts like a carb when its flooded im thinking the two problems might be related but not sure.So if anyone knows what could be cuasing this please let me know the car is parked antel I get this fixed.

Leaking injectors will cause pooling of gas as pressure is relieved in the fuel system. This will make it hard to start as it will be flooded.

You should check your compression while you're at it. Worn piston rings will allow the fuel/air mix in the piston to blow past the piston into the crank case. A little blow by is normal, but if the rings are shot, you'll have gas in the oil and your compression will likely be lower than minimum factory specifications.

A leaking injector allowing the gas to pool in the chamber is also a probable cause, as previously mentioned.

Im pretty sure my rings are fine the car does not smoke at all but I plan on doing a compression check anyways in the next couple days.Whats a good way to check the Injectors to see if there leaking or if there even any good? Its strange once the car starts it runs fine no misses or anything just kinda hard to start when its cold and hot and there is a strong smell of gas in the oil also it was very thin.

Ok so I did a full check on all my censors and seem that my CTS was bad also did a compression test and the results were not good most were in the 75 -50 very very low my book says add a table spoon of oil through the spark plug whole and repeat the compression test if compression rises after adding oil then its your rings or damaged or worn cylinder bore. After doing this my compression stayed the same. The kid I bought the car from had just put a head on it so im thinking the head he had put on is no good thinking the valves are not seating correctly dont think my head gasket is blown im not getting oil in the water or white smoke out the tail pipe.Doing a leak down test in the next couple days should help pin point were im losing compression.Just kinda strange with that low of compression you would think the car would run bad but it doesn't doesn't smoke pulls fine running low boost 13psi just had a hard start due to that dead CTS.

I'll bet boost is the only thing making that car feel somewhat normal. If you left the wastegate wide open, it would probably feel very, very slow. With compression numbers like that, only one thing to do at this point, pull the head and see what your dealing with.

Ya im already planning on a rebuild or new head depending on what it turns out to be the only thing that bothers me is how can it run fine with that low of compression? It just does not seem right.

Read on how to propery check compression. If you had numbers between 50-75 you wouldnt have been complaining about fuel in your oil, you would have noticed much bigger issues.

Just double checked the compression gauge is working fine on my toyota pickup. The funny thing is on the car I think it was number 1 only had like 15psi everyone I talk to says this car should not run but it runs fine still pulls hard idles fine doesn't miss or smoke has anyone else ever seen this before?

Pull the vac line to the FPR, if the diaphram has failed it will suck raw fuel into the intake.

The vac line will be wet or smell heavy of gas.

The rings may be a tad stuck scince the car was parked for a couple of years, giving lower compression, gut getting up and running at op temp may break them free.

I would put a small amount of trans fluid inside each cylinder and crank it over a few times with the spark plugs in but unplug the injectors and coil pack. the trans fluid has a detergent in it to loosen up your rings as well as some other additives to help lubricate the cylinder walls.

Also do a fuel pressure leak down test. I would put money on you having some gummed up stuck open injectors. maybe even some sticky valves as well. Letting a motor sit for a prolonged time is really bad for it. the oil turns to sludge and the gas gums up and clogs everything.

Bought a leak down tester today when I tested cylinder 1 im losing air out cylinder 2 when I tested cylinder 4 im losing air out cylinder 3 but when I tested cylinder 2 im losing air out cylinder 4 was thinking I had a blown head gasket antel I pressurized cylinder 2 and had air coming out cylinder 4 could this be because I might not be on the compression stroke?Ive been following a thread on here on how to do a leak down test seams to cover everything but it doesn't tell how to find the compression stoke.Ill get the piston to top dead center car seems to be on compession stroke oil caps off coolent caps off all plugs are out When I test each cylinder it seems the only place im losing air is in the adjacent cylinder besides cylinder 2 it skipped one and blew air out cylinder 4 I dont hear air out the tail pipe no water bubbling in the coolent if anyone knows a sure way how to make sure the piston im checking is on its compression stroke let me know.

Never mind found a couple good ways to find out if its on compression stroke planing on doing some more work on it tomarrow and get a better idea whats going on with this thing.
