I am changing clutch on my 97 FWD talon, after taking off some crap of the the car I noticed a leak from a canister right under battery tray, hose from the top of it chases to fuel rail so I believe it is a fuel filter? Top nut is good, I think its the bottom is where the leak coming from, smells weird, like a mixture of gas and oil. Is there a replacement canister that works with stock lines? I will try to tighten it but I rather just replace it cause it looks pretty shitty.

Largish black plastic canister or small metal canister? The former is the EVAP's charcoal canister; the latter is a fuel filter.

The line that comes off the fuel tank that goes to the canister is just a vent for the emissions crap these cars have. You can remove it all to free up space under the hood. If you do decide to delete the charcoal canister make sure you vent the line under the car, do not cap it off.

Tell me more. How do I vent the line if I get rid of that canister, what can I use in place of canister, what size line and can I get it some place locally?

If it's a small black canister it's the fuel filter, which is easy to entirely replace. Just make sure to make a good wipe up job afterwards of any split fuel. I also recommend running your car dry with the fuel pump fuse pulled.

Before you guys talk him into deleting his EVAP, you might want to ask him whether he parks the car in a small garage for long periods on hot days in summer, what kind of emissions testing his state does, and whether he has something like DSM Link to dodge the CEL. Just sayin'.

I have a 97 car, I don't run dsm link yet I use Apexi unit, car parked inside garage for the main part, all I really want is for that thing is not to leak, I don't care if it's there or not as long as it stops leaking
