fuel cut problems

Just to throw this out there im completely noob. my eclipse has fuel cut. I did a boost leak test and its not that. i have .stock turbo the only mods are really are an external wastegate, fmic, and exhaust. and im clueless how to deal with the fuel cut. on top of that i think its running rich ### the exhaust is black and has an odor. Soooo... should i be looking into an safc or something along those line to fix this? will that even help?

If you're a complete newb then you may be confusing fuel cut with bucking, bogging, stumbling, or choking. There are different solutions for different problems. Describe exactly what happens during the incidents of alleged fuel cut.

stock boost. and nothing happens in 1st but around 4k rpm in 2nd and up the car pops really loud and i try not to hit my face on the steering wheel.

first of all don't thread jack. If your having the same problems just not the same symptoms it could be a different answer for the both of you.

For the original Poster. You need to get some way to datalog for knock or pick up a wideband. From there you can see if your too rich or too lean. After which then you can pick up a AFC of your choice.

Fuel cut feels like your slamming into a wall which is about what you described. The best thing to do would be turn down the boost and maybe with your mods you can't. next step for you sounds like a 190 fuel pump or 255 with afpr!

Not trying to sound like a douche, but I agree with wishnfor4g63t.....if you are having similiar but not same issue, its best if you create a new thread (after you have exhausted all "search" options)


That way your issues, and the original poster's issues dont get mixed, resulting in no one getting helped, or resolutions getting mixed up

Hey guys, I just picked up a gst with a 16g turbo and its doing the same thing first gear I get through then second gear starts jerking me like I just learned stick, then.. it cuts back in kinda but then I shift right away. And then same for all gears I cant get over 80 mph cause it does that jerking feeling. I am between 15 and 19 psi Ill have to watch more closely next time.. but yeah any help would be great. I checked for leak best I could and everything seemed on there good and tight. I'm thinking needs a better fuel pump and injectors and a good tune but if there is a way to fix please help me out. I wanna drive my car!!!!

I had the same thought as Misfit. I question why you think you have fuel cut. Explain how you came up with that conclusion.

You say you are running stock boost, so it is almost certainly not fuel cut. Tell us a little more about your setup.
