hi, i just bought my 97 gsx.. i love it but when i ride it over 4k rpms hard the boost spikes over 20 psi then fuel cuts... i found the top hose to the wastegate solenoid not connected so i connected it to the intake from the turbo to the solenoid and now it hits like 30 psi then blows and intercooler pipe off, sure i may just have shitty clamps on my intercooler but im boosting sper high. just wondering whats going on. my motor is stock with the stock 14b still running a 2g MAF, please help!

The hose should be ran somewhere after the turbo,Like right after the turbo unless the turbo has a nipple on it to run it to.By the way you described it it sounds like you have it ran to the intake. It has to be downstream from the turbo where it is getting boost to open the wastegate. If I misunderstood, then check the vacuum line for holes that runs to the wastegate.Even a small pin hole will cause it to over boost.

Am I correct to assume that you still have your stock boost control solenoid hooked up as well without a manual boost controller?

If you have a manual boost controller follow this link: scroll down to post #7 by Knochgoon24 for reference.

If you still have your stock boost control solenoid hooked up, follow all the vacuum lines to ensure they are hooked up according to this:

Hope these help you figure out whats going on ;).

Either the boost control solenoid isn't working correctly, or the hoses aren't hooked up properly. IT should be hooked up like this.

Do yourself a favor and stop driving it until you get it figured out. You will blow the turbo real fast boosting it that high, and likely blow the engine also.

that is the line going from the wastegate solenoid to the intake on the turbo... i have it going to the port closest to the turbo.

this is the other port i have blocked off because i have no line going to it

Don't wanna steal your thunder or anything but i'm having a similar problem, installed a 16g with fmic not to long ago but everytime i get around 4.5RPM and 8 PSI i experience fuel cut and the car just won't boost push past it. Sometimes the gauge spikes to 20 psi right before it happens

No, I haven't done a boost leak test just yet. I was reading around a bit and started to wonder if maybe i need a better fuel pump and injectors because i'm running stock everything else pretty much. But i guess i can start with doing a boost leak test first.
