whats up guys, alright my new project 91 gsx is turning into a headache. the car runs pretty damn good, pulls hard. but thats the problem. the car has a stock boost solinoid(boost controller) but it will boost 20psi in 3rd and 4th gear with it to the floor. the crazy thing is it doesnt fuel cut and its got stock injectors, i dont even have a safc or fpr or nothen on my fuel system but i do have a walbro 255. it will boost up to the stock boost11-12psi but at about 4000-5000 it will boost up to 20psi and hold there. i have a evo 3 16g, 3in intake pipe, all free mods done yada yada just some basic shit, it has stock exhaust but im putting on a dejon tool 3in full exhaust on tuesday
will my over boosting problim get worse after i get the exhaust? why is my car doing this? i thought that if you ran anything over 16 psi with stock injectors the car would fuel cut? im real confused and none of my buddys can figure it out either, i mean the car doesnt smoke even when its boosting 20 psi, oh and it has 148,000 original miles too
it just dont make since how a old car with that many miles and stock internals can run so damn good even when its over boosting, now i dont ride the car around all day boosting it of course i know something has to be wrong. the only with i can think of is it runs a little rich because i lost my recirulation tube for the my crushed 1g bov. it idles a little rough too. but besides that no weird engine noise, no ticking, revs smooth. i just dont get it, well i think im gonna buy a manual boost controller on tuesday too and just set it to like 14psi. hopefully that will cure the problim.
