Fuel consumption issues

Alright Im having some fuel consumption issues. I have replaced the CLT sensor and that is working just fine. When I am just crusing around low rpm I can watch the Fuel guage drop. Every now and then I can smell raw fuel. I have looked for leaking lines and injectors but its all sealed up good. I got a palm data logger now. I would have posted my log but I am having problems with windows 7 64 bit recognizing the palm. But tps is out of adjustment. O2 readings are somewhat erratic. When throttle is closed O2 shows .00 when in part throttle its around .6 .7 under boost it stays at almost a rock solid .8 MAF seems to be working well. Although every now and then when under part throttle i can watch the stock boost guage "twitch" from vac to atmoshpere. Ill see what I can do to import those logs. But intill then I will do my best to answer any questions. Thanks. BTW the car is a 1990 Talon TSi AWD. K&N filter turbo back 3" and MBC. also the stock air filter cage has been cut around the filter. Thanks again

Can you smell gas in your oil?

fuel gauge as in FP gauge or your fuel tank gauge? If you can see the latter drop, something's seriously wrong.

The stock boost gauge isn't a real gauge, it's the ECM's interpretation of related data. Don't mind it for anything.

I would bet it's an exhaust leak, which would make the O2 sensor think you are running lean because it's reading outside air. That would make it pour in fuel to make it richen up to spec. You'd have to listen around the exhaust to hear for noise.

i had the same issue before, i ran seafoam through my engine and i found a small crack in my exh manifold. after i fixed that it got better, but then i ended up having to replace my front O2sensor. now since i have replaced my sensor i am getting the best fuel mileage ever in my car, around 25mpg which to me is awesome since i can afford to drive the dsm to work now . also another big factor is boost leaks.

you should make sure and absolutely sure its not an exhaust leak. cause over time that causes problems. my Nt is running bad becuase of an exhaust leak to so check your exhuast very very well

Thanks for all the speedy replys. Ill check to oil for gas smell tommorow. Only exhaust leak is at the flex pipe under the oil pan. That wont effect the o2 sensor that far away. Im thinkin the O2 may be bad. As it looks to be orig. I still do need to do a boost leak leak down

Think I may have found the problem. Found the vacume line from the charcoal canister to the intake disconnected at the canister. I plug it at the intake. Seems to be running much better. Ill know more the more I drive it.

O2 sensor was my issue. I now have a DTC 44 Gonna trouble shoot tommorow
