Frustrating Starting Problem- PLEASE HELP!

I have a talon ES auto 2.0NT that is having frustrating starting issues. It has a rebuilt head and headers recently installed and after instillation it will not fire. The engine has been turned over so many times without firing that i believe it is starting to flood due to a fuel scent in the oil. I have timed it 3 times to no avail. I re-gaped the spark plugs and observed every plug firing on ever cylinder when pulled out of the combustion chamber. the spark seems fine when pulled out but i do not know what it is doing when re-installed. i can visually see fuel being pushed out of the injectors when the spark plug is pulled out. i pulled off the front cover when i timed it and have not re-installed the accessory belts so i have to jump the battery to get a good turn over. once about every 20 full rotations it back fires telling me something is going on even mild. i think it is due to the build up of fuel in the chamber and a weak spark may be igniting it. there was a small battery box fire slightly charring the harness behind the battery and burning through the small wire that is right behind the battery on the fire wall. it also looks like it chard the butt end of the MAF. even with a small spark and all that fuel i feel like something more should be happening, there is literally no sign of combustion happening. i do not have a compression tester or a timing light so i am going on a whim. could it be a computer issue? what am i missing? any sensors that could severly effect the ignition? i am afraid to keep turning this thing over in fear that i am putting way too much fuel into the system. i know there is a difference in timing 90-92 and 93-94. i also noticed an extra gear that i have not seen in timing diagrams. multiple mechanics as well as my self have tried to get it to turn over but have had no luck, i have narrowed it down to either timing, crankshaft angle system sensor, or a computer issue. My frustration is high and i need to get this thing started before i continue to put more of my time and money into it. please help.

Back Fire on start up usually indicates that either you cam angle sensor is in the wrong place or bad, and/or your spark plug wires are in the wrong place. Are you sure your timing is correct??? I know you have done it 3 times but still. Are you 100 percent positive that it's right?

Find the test to check the OHM's on your CAS, make sure your spark plug wires are in the correct order, and recheck to make sure your timing is right. If you have fuel, and spark and you are certain that you are right on timing than you should be starting up.

Check your wires, they might not be in the correct order. Sounds simple but it happens sometimes.

Got any buddies that can pull it over to the auto craft shop? Get it there and do a compression check. You're getting fire and fuel. If you are getting compression then we can start looking at electronic problems.

It's probably his CAS 180 degrees wrong
