front wheel bearing

ok so i got a fwd 1g, and i need to replace the wheel bearing. if anyone has done this, is it difficult, how long did it take and are there any howto's ? i cnat find one. thanksss

its not that difficult if u have all the right tools but ill give u a how to really fast.

this is all from the manual if u have one its in the front suspension section.

obviously take ## tire off then
your ball join
your tie rod
your axel
the pop off the snap ring on the motor side of your knuckle
your wheel bearing should come right out then.

In theory thats what should happen, but depending on how recently that bearing has been changed, or if its ever been changed at all, being 14 years old and all she's most likely going to fight you tooth and nail coming out. Mine wouldnt come out with anything short of cutting through it with torches then beating the cut pieces out of the hub. Truthfully just getting the bearing out of the hub is what took me the longest, that and also figuring out that all the "inner/outer" bearing nonsense the places kept trying to tell me, its just one bearing. Its a pretty easy job though, but try looking through www.vfaq.com and www.plymouthlaser.com to see if theres any how-to's to help you out.
