With my 91 eagle talon tsi awd none of the front speakers will work. i know they are not blown because if i hit the side of the radio i can hear the speakers start to play the music. so im gunnaing wires got lose? how do i get to the wires do i need to take the whole dash off?

Pull the cover thats around the radio off. It should just have push clamps on it like the 2g. I have a 2g so I really never pulled the 1g's apart. It sounds like the radio is going out since both speakers are doing the same thing.

I want to know how to get the face off so i can get to the back of the radio i took off some scews i think 5-6 (thos ones behind the black tabs that cover them) and now it still will not come off please help i need to get behind the radio. :talon:

yes i took the nobs off. im getting to because the frunt speakers will not work and i know they arnt blown or aything wrong with em because when i make all the sound go to the frunt you can hear it a little and if you hit the side of the radio you can hear it trying to play it. So im checking the wires i think one is lose and keeps touching and almost playing it.

Well the speaker connections and all that are in the back of the radio not in the face...you need to pull the whole unit out and spray the inside with Electrical Contact Cleaner then use some Dielectric Grease on the plug and stuff...That might help...but I think U might just need a new Radio.

you dont need to take off the whole panel, just pop the trim off from around the radio face and theres 4 screws, dont bother taking off the whole panel as you still wont be able to get to the back of the radio and if you take the face off the radio it will no longer work at all

im pretty sure there are plastic clips behind it, i had the same problem with my 90 eclipse radio and i just took a screwdriver and put it in there to pry it out and it eventually popped out.

try to see back behind it with a flash light, take the carpet parts off that cover where the ecu is and look to see if you can see anything hold the radio, in my 91 i can change my radio in about 5 min. it shouldnt be hard at all.

what is the speaker sizes i know there are 3 diffrent ones 2 in back 2 on dash and 2 in doors.

Also i noticed a fabric covering them do i need to replace that also if i get new speakers or will it come with it?

Not to sure on the 1g but they should be the same for the 2g. 2g has 6.5 looking one's in the rear you can change em to 6X9's like I did. I got the write up on my myspace site. The door speakers should be 5.25 if I remember right. an the dash on mine has some on the bottom of it for 4" an the top has 1" tweeter spots. Now if you like when you goto a good audio store they can look your car up an tell you exactly what will fit in it.

The front door speakers are either 5.25" (common) or 6.5" (less common). You'll have to take the door interior off to see, it's not very hard.

The rear speakers are 6x9's.

I want to say that the dash speakers are 4Ts, but don't quote me on that.

It all depends on your trim level. It depends on what audio system your car came with from the factory. You may have to look to see exactly what you got. That way you'll know for sure. In my 94 Eclipse GS Non-turbo (will all power options + sunroof), I have 6.5 in the doors, 4" in the dash and 6x9 in the rear. You can also check crutchfield.com.

god no, stay away from radio shack.. your radio can handle any speakers all speakers can hold the standard 15. That the head unit puts out. Dont worry now. the only time you got to worrie about power lvl is when your getting subs.

If you want to see something cool look at my homepage my system I did cost me under 1000 for the equiptment. MB Quart speakers in front an rear 2 JL 10W6 MB Quart 1000w amp an a 2 frag cap with 2 guage wireing an 8guage wiring an Soundstream distrubition block, battery an all. also a head unit (radio).

Would not waste money on today's orion equipment. It is all made be DEI nowdays so you can purchase DEI brand equipment and save alot on the cost.

I would not put any high end speakers on a factory deck. Lack of wattage is worse than too much wattage.

Edit look into the memphis line. Their equipment is alot more efficient than what is posted above.

Agreed. My 90 had 4" in dash, 6.5 in doors ad=nd 6.9 in rear.

OP I don't mean to be rude but you have posted alot of threads asking relatively the same information and all of it could of been found by using a search feature.

Orion got bought out by DEI about 5 years ago. You would be surprised how many brands DEI owns now.

Orion
PPI
Polk Audio
Directed
Xtreme
Directed Audio Essentials
A/D/S

And I think a few more.
