420A Front differential cover leaking?

Hey guys,
I've been having a very bad oil leak in my 98 eclipse RS (420a). When I checked underneath, I saw most of it coming from what looks like a differential cover? Can I remove it and RTV/put a new gasket in? Will engine oil come pouring out when I remove it? I'm not exactly sure what's behind it.

I'm confused at what I'm looking at. I didn't know N/A's had differential covers. But then I've never looked under the hood or car of one neither. I still would say you can remove it and put RTV on it. make sure you clean all the oil off too have a good seal and when putting silicone on it trace it in front of the bolt holes not on the outside of them. and fully let it cure.

I believe this is an automatic transmission diff cover. Either that or its for a 4g64 setup. Either way, there will probabaly be some fluid that comes out, it's best to do a drain, re-gasket and re-fill.

You should be able to remove it, clean and apply some rtv, then re-assemble.
