was wondering what were sings or warning of a fried ecu. i have a 99 gsx, with a 95 eprom ecu and dsmlink. just put a 6 bolt in the car, there was a big load of spark somewhere and while trying to charge up the car to start it, smoke came from the inside somewhere
anyways, found out that i had a bad alternator and replaced it, and there is no longer a big load.....
the car starts on its own and drives fine until u get into boost. it seems to be running a TON of boost and does nothing with it, as if it has a huge boost leak. have not yet boost leak tested it.
im really hoping that my expensive ecu isnt done for, anyone know of any symptoms of a bad ecu? would the car drive just fine without boosting if it were bad?

, Ive got a leaked capacitor, spilled all over the mainboard, but itll start, and then you hear a click, and it turns off, or somethimes it goes click crazy, awaiting to pick up gvr4 ecu today.
